I should know better than to set out to take pictures without making a cursory look at the camera settings!

So I went on a 5 mile hike with my wife this morning and of course took the 6D along. I had it fitted with the new 135mm F2 lens and as we walked along, I was taking all sorts of pictures, including what I was sure were going to be some great pics of a couple of red tail hawks in flight.

When I got home, I pulled the card and started looking at the pictures in Lightroom. To my horror I discover that somehow I had the image quality on the camera set to the smallest size .JPG setting instead of the RAW setting. Those wonderful hawk pictures look like birds made from lego blocks when I crop in. Arggg! eek

It would have taken all of 10 seconds to check! I usually leave the image quality setting on RAW. I think I was watching some video on my camera settings a few days ago and must have been playing around with settings and just didn't put it back where it belonged.

Yeah, I did a shoot in the middle of an over cast day with an ISO of 1000. Coulda easily brought it down to 200 but just didn't think about it. It happens.
