They are coming to Kirkland AFB Saturday. The security rules say that we can only bring cameras that will fit in an 8" x 8" camera case (no backpacks, etc). I think this is a good example of a time when I should take my Canon SX50 HS camera!

Reading between the lines... What if you brought 3 8"×8"×8" bags. Body in one, long lens in another, etc.

All my tele lenses are longer than 8". I should be fine with the SX50. It's a lot easier to carry around also.

Due to the crash at Colorado Springs, the Thunderbirds demonstration has been cancelled. The rest of the show will go on however.

And if the Thunderbird crash wasn't bad enough, there was a Blue Angles crash the same day in Tennessee in which the pilot died.

I read that too. Some guy named Basil had mentioned it on a forum for British cars I frequent.

The last time I saw the Thunderbirds was at my son's graduation from the USAFA in 2006. It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since I was in the Springs, but I am very proud that my son was promoted to Major this week.

I have seen them a few times. Last time was here at Kirkland several years ago (don't ask me which year)
