I had sort of avoided the idea of a mirrorless camera, but finally decided to go for the Olympus E-M1. Anyone else using a mirrorless camera?

I have had some luck with it so far and I am enjoying some of the features, but I still need to get a lot of the buttons memorized so that I can make changes on the fly. But I like the smaller size and weight. It is a great camera for travel.

I've never used one. It turns out I have a few options using adapters for the Nikon 1 or a Sony body. I have 7 manual Nikkor primes and one Sigma zoom. Don't really want to re-lens at this point.

I have never used one either, but I know they are gaining in popularity. I think Canon just came out with their first mirrorless offering - the EOS M2. I think they use a special lens, but I've read there is an adaptor to let you use normal Canon EF / EF-S lenses.

I am feeling that they may be the wave of the future for those of us who do not want to use a phone for all our photography. So far I only bought one lens specifically for the E-M1, a 17mm f1.8 that I use for low light situations, even though the camera lists ISO settings up to 25600. I had another lens that I bought with my older PL-1 that uses the same mount, but even my 70-300mm zoom with the converter mount works well, but does not allow some of the extra features to work. I just recently upgraded the firmware to get a few new features including focus bracketing that only works with 17mm lens, but I plan to add another lens or two in the future as well.

Sorry to resurrect...

I have a Panasonic GH-2 and a GH-4. They're the same form factor as your Olympus (Micro 4/3). I like the platform very much, and at this point I consider myself to be vested into the platform.

I have the Panasonic Lumix 12 - 35mm f/2.8, Lumix 35 - 100mm f/2.8, Olympus M. Zuiko 49mm f/1.8, Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95, Lumix 14mm f/2.5, and a couple of vintage Spiratone lenses with adaptors.

The 49mm and the 35 - 100mm take really nice portraits, but the 49mm can put a little more isolation from the background if you need it. All of the Panasonic and Olympus lenses I have take really nice, sharp, and vibrant pictures. But the manual lenses (Voitlander and Spiratones) seem to have more character to them. Though, the Spiratone lenses seem to lack the vibrance of all the others...

I usually run around with the 25mm attached to one of the bodies, because I really like the pictures I get from it. It may find permanent residence on the GH-4 because it has focus peaking and the GH-2 does not. The 12 - 35mm lens may find permanent residence on the other body, because it's a great range of FoVs for most of my daily shooting. I wish I had it when I went to Yellowstone a couple of years ago.
